When I called to schedule an appointment for my son I specifically said it was for contacts As he just had an eye exam at another office. I had sent his prescription over to them. Fast forward to appointment and they say he can’t have exam because they didn’t exam him for glasses. Basically this is a ploy to charge more money which my insurance will not cover since I just had it done. Needless to say he is going off to college so I had to basically say how can we get this done today as it was scheduled. She then tells me well we don’t do them together because his eyes will be dilated. No they do not need dilation as this was just done 6 months ago and is again another add on service. This is super disappointing and frustrating. It’s already expensive to have all these test done and pay for glasses and contacts but to try and manipulate people into more fees and services is just ridiculous. We will get eye exams completed to have and buy our frames and contacts online. Really bad form.
The place itself is gorgeous, warm and welcoming. The front office staff is also very welcoming and friendly. The actual physicians were bizarre. The tech that actually did my exam especially upset me. She was rushing me through my medication list and allergies after each one she was like ok that’s it and ok that’s it? When it wasn’t it she grew frustrated like she was in such a rush to get me out. I explained I was nervous about the apt since I’ve never had an eye exam with my eyes dilated. She did nothing to calm my nerves, didn’t explain what the drops she was putting in my eyes were for then before I knew it she was shoving something into my actual eyeball to which I kept saying I was uncomfortable. Again she was rushed and she just said uhm okay? And kept on. When I said I was nervous. Then it took an hour of my eyes dilated to even see the doctor to which the apt was 3 seconds!! Overall bedside manner is not there the clinical staff was brutal I’ll never go back. This was a traumatic experience for me I felt like I was not listened to it was a factory get in get out as soon as possible.
had my second visit with Dr. Mattux and his assistant yesterday. another great experience. Dr Mattux spent a long time with me answering all my questions. super pleasant both time. I didn't feel rushed like all my other doctor visits. I highly recommend Dr. Mattux and his team. I would send my family and friends to Dr. Mattux if they ever need an ophthalmologist.
These are my eye Drs , three to four years going , great service and care , thorough eye exam. Concerned Drs and staff ⚕️ listen . Lovely new spacious office ! Large waiting room w tea -water -coffee are back too.. A lovely touch of class. If n when I need future eye surgery, I have cataracts , I can now trust I'm in good hands and can relax with this team of Drs and their knowledge of Eye 👀 Care.
Very helpful and friendly front desk staff, I was seen quickly. In fact, the only wait was for my eyes to be fully dilated. If you are able to go there, the Stanwood office is a great place.
