This has always been my go to lake to take my kids to. I love how the water is like 4-5 feet deep as long as you stay in the ropes off area and do not go on the otherside of the dock. I like that you can enjoy shade or sun. The playground equipment is nice too. There is a undercover area that has power etc for parties and gatherings, it has to be prior reserved. The beach is pretty clean, the water is great, clear as a lake can be. There is sand and grass outdoor showers and indoor bathrooms. However, during the pandemic they have had to close those features for some reason. All in all a great place to enjoy nature, summer and catch some vitamin D. If you want there is even a short trail to a fishing dock. Also a mom n pop gas station down the street in walking distance. Parking can be an issue.

Overall I enjoy the this lake but the bathroom need to be open up more, the other one is always dirty and full.. wish the sand was cleaner after all the people have used it throughout the day..

Lake Goodwin is beautiful but fills up quick on warm days, and parking is very limited. Parking on the street results in many cars getting towed every year. Get there early!!

Warning: there’s a trout that bites toes and ankles lol. My boyfriend and I went here yesterday and if you go out into the lake, on the right side past the dock there’ll be a decent sized fish that’ll bite your toes. He’s like a foot long he’s kinda huge. Itll feel like a rock fell onto your toes or ankles. Beware of the Goodwin Toe Biter
