Movement Arts is a great place with great instructors, and members who feel like family. However, I specifically like that the teachers are in the know about the body and explain the “why’s” of things throughout class. It helps to know how things work, why engaging and strengthening certain muscle groups is important, and why we are doing a particular exercise/pose. It is a beautiful, homey studio, as well, with a friendly environment.

I am a former student who is happy to return to Movement Arts after several years of absence.I have always enjoyed the positive energy and atmosphere of Movement Arts. I love the centering exercises before we start physical work, and the teaching is thorough, technical, patient and sensitive. I feel so much better after class than when I came in. I also appreciate Movement Art’s versatile schedule along with the variety of classes to choose from.

I have loved every class I've attended at Movement Arts Studio. I've been attending classes at this studio for over 4 months...more than 50 classes. Each teacher and each class has something unique to offer. Each teacher is knowledgeable, balanced, and kind.
Carol Mason's Flow Yoga and Pilates classes are challenging yet move at a comfortable pace. Her Yoga Yin class is simply wonderful.
I've only taken the opportunity to attend Kara Keating's Yoga Nidra class once, but it was after a very challenging day supporting a young friend at court with her nasty divorce trial trying to separate from an abusive man. I came to the class feeling tense and drained, but left feeling perfectly calm, centered and with better perspective.
In Ash Ayer's Basic Yoga classes I've found something truly special which I didn't know I needed or was looking for in my yoga practice. Her classes move at a slow meditative pace with great focus on alignment of the spine and impeccable cuing. I always leave feeling an inch taller and moving more freely as well as feeling perfectly calm and centered! The meditative aspect of her class is particularly worth mention and has been a game changer for me this winter as I usually struggle with SAD and this has been greatly decreased and almost illuminated this year. Thank you Ash!
The studio is a simple, clean, beautiful space in which to practice. I always feel calmer just walking through the door! Everything you need is there. You need only bring your mat and perhaps an eye cover.
