Update: 6/2 I'm not sure what happened, but food and drinks are not the same. I was looking forward to coming here this week and I'm very disappointed. Service is really bad as well. Great food and exceptional service!!! Will be back for sure.
That door swings open, and the baseline thumps your thorax, then seventeen screens, pierce every game imaginable in your eyes. A big blackboard lets you know it is Wednesday, and the special is spaghetti. Bar stools warmed by the ample butts that piloted those duleys out in the generous gravel lot tell you in every way THIS IS AMERICA SETH! A young woman with a dismissive look that lets you know she's had better asks you for a choice of drinks. The food arrives quickly (so order drinks first), and it's better than expected. Someone is paying attention to the customer experience and studies pub food recipes down to fine detail. Aspiring cooks could pick up a tip or two from eating here.
Usually I love most of the food here, but today I got the breakfast carne tacos and they just didn’t hit. The meat to salsa ratio was way off by like 4:1. The whole plate was overloaded with chips and a small little cup of pico. I had 3 options for salsa and asked for the apple, and I didn’t see any apple on my plate, pretty sure it was just pico lol. For a breakfast taco it didn’t taste like breakfast at all. Could really use some tuning up and could be a great dish.
Yummy food. Friendly service. And a great outdoor seating area. We went early in the morning at the kids had plenty of room to play and eat. And the $4 mimosas were great!
**read if you care about employee treatment** I used to love Paddle Pub but the rating has gone from 5 to 0 with the current management. The turnover in employees is constant and the while the wait staff is hard working and are great, the service is often questionable because they have PAY for every issue. Even when it's not their fault. Management, mistakes happen. Sometimes your food is not cooked right, a drink is not made right. Your wait staff should NOT be paying for that. Your staff should not be afraid that when a kitchen order is wrong, they have to pay for it. (Yes, I have witnessed this many times before and have had the manager come to our table before and tell us our waitress will pay for it, when we just needed a change on bill). It's truly disgusting behavior. I hope one day PP turns back into the great local dive with amazing food it was. Until this current management is gone we won't be back. And we sure to encourage all others in the 7 lakes area to do the same.
